Initial Consultation & Body Work Session $120

Initial consultation to assess issues and develop plan. The initial equine bodywork session begins with a calm, observational introduction where Brenda gives the horse time to become comfortable with her presence. The session includes a brief conversation with the owner about the horse’s history, workload, and any areas of concern, followed by a slow, methodical assessment of posture, movement, and muscle tone. From there, Brenda works through the horse’s body using techniques such as massage, Masterson Method tequniques, myofascial release, and gentle stretches, always adjusting pressure and pace based on the horse’s responses. Throughout the session, the horse is encouraged to release tension through licking, chewing, yawning, stretching, or softening their posture, and Brenda notes these changes to guide her work. The session typically ends with a short debrief, sharing observations and offering suggestions for aftercare or exercises that support ongoing comfort and mobility. Initial sessions typically last 1.5-2hrs. A longer session window gives Brenda the space to connect with your horse as they are that day, explore your goals and any concerns, and begin building a foundation of trust and collaboration—both with you and with your horse.

Follow Up Session $100

A follow‑up equine bodywork session builds on the foundation established in the initial visit, allowing Brenda to check in with how your horse has responded, note any changes in posture or movement, and refine the focus of the work. The session typically moves more fluidly, as your horse is already familiar with the process and often settles into relaxation more quickly. Brenda revisits key areas addressed previously, follows the horse’s responses to identify new patterns of tension or release, and applies techniques that best support ongoing comfort, mobility, and balance. Throughout, she observes subtle shifts—softening through the topline, deeper breathing, improved range of motion—and adjusts her approach accordingly. The session concludes with a brief conversation about progress, any new insights, and simple at‑home strategies to help maintain your horse’s well‑being between appointments. These appointments last 1-1.5hrs. Appointment frequency depends on the individual needs of each horse, and Brenda will work with you to determine a schedule that supports your horse’s progress. Because this work focuses on gently releasing long‑held tension, addressing underlying imbalances, and easing patterns of compensation within the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, meaningful change often happens gradually. Horses who receive regular, consistent sessions tend to experience the most noticeable and lasting improvements in comfort, mobility, and overall well‑being.

What to expect during a session

Each session is grounded in the principles of Comfort – Balance – Freedom of Movement, creating a calm, supportive environment where your horse can soften, release, and rebalance at their own pace. Brenda begins with a quiet assessment of posture, expression, and movement, noticing where the body is holding tension or compensating. This initial assessment helps reveal areas of restriction or imbalance that may be influencing comfort or performance.

Once your horse is ready, Brenda moves into hands‑on work using a thoughtful blend of techniques tailored to your horse’s needs. This may include massage to warm and soften the tissues, myofascial release to ease restrictions, and gentle bodywork approaches inspired by methods such as the Masterson Method®. These techniques invite the horse to participate in the process, using subtle responses—blinking, licking and chewing, changes in breathing, shifting weight, or releasing through the topline—to guide the work moment by moment. Reiki may also be incorporated to support the nervous system and encourage a sense of safety, grounding, and relaxation.

The pace is intentionally slow and responsive. Brenda follows your horse’s cues, offering breaks whenever needed and adjusting pressure or technique based on how the body responds. Some horses release quickly and visibly; others unwind more quietly or gradually. All responses are welcomed and respected.

Throughout the session, Brenda tracks changes such as improved softness through the poll, freer movement in the shoulders or hips, deeper breathing, or a more balanced stance. These shifts help shape the direction of the work and provide insight into underlying patterns.

The session concludes with a conversation about what was found, how your horse responded, and any changes observed. Brenda may offer simple suggestions—such as light movement, rest, or supportive exercises—to help your horse integrate the work and maintain comfort between appointments.
